City of Hillsboro: Glencoe Swale Open-house

I believe our “Neighbor-to-Neighbor approach for “Paying attention to our watershed” has a lot of merit. The City of Hillsboro heard our concerns about adverse affects caused by the 2016 Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM). The new map dramatically raised the Base Flood Elevation for this area. Forty-four homes in our small watershed were impacted.

The Public Open House is important… we anticipate learning about better FIRM outcomes for our properties… resulting  from proactive City responses to a difficult situation.

Focus on the FIRM-related issues has been a year long undertaking. We soon will share plans for getting on track with ecological and conservation learning and activities. 💚🐸
