Are you in the Glencoe Swale FLOOD ZONE?

Hillsboro residents who live along Glencoe Swale are probably aware that FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) were newly adopted by the City of Hillsboro on November 4, 2016.

By comparison, more homes in the Glencoe Swale watershed changed flood zone status than any other watershed in Hillsboro. The current FIRM revision created dramatic flood insurance changes for approximately forty-four homes along the Glencoe Swale watershed.

Several residents were alarmed by this and decided to schedule a meeting to address the situation. Why?  They think holding a  forum will provide a helpful venue for neighbors to learn from each other by sharing  their flood insurance-related thoughts, actions, and outcomes.

Where are you on the new floodway and floodplain map?

Flyers were created for residents with neighborhood-specific  maps to delineate the Glencoe Swale floodway and floodplain.

Glencoe Swale homeowners may access a flood map specific for their addresses by clicking on the map below. The password that was provided on the flyer should be entered to open the Glencoe Swale Flood Maps post.
